The boy with weak teeth who became a dentist

Treatment plans
built on experience

Ever since I was a child, I was prone to cavities.

So I think I have had just about every dental treatment there is, from simple cavity fillings to implants.

Along the way, I came to understand from the patient's side just how frightening dental treatment can be and what hurts patients most, and that has allowed me to plan treatment with greater care.

I think the reason I gave up on medical school and chose dental school was probably that I had so much experience with dental treatment and was more interested in teeth. After entering dental school, I learned that my teeth had decayed so easily because of a lack of preventive care.

So I resolved that any clinic I ran would always have a preventive dentistry specialist on staff, hoping that fewer patients would come in with tooth pain, even if it meant earning a little less myself. At Plan Dental, I have been able to put this into practice.

A passion for advanced dentistry led me to the U.S.

New challenges and
endless research

After earning my dental license, I worked as a public health dentist. I attended academic seminars every weekend and, on vacations, went to international conferences in Boston, constantly studying not only clinical practice but also how to advance my skills.

What mattered most during my years as a public health dentist was the fulfillment of having helped patients. That is why I resolved to one day contribute to society through my own skills.

As my public health service came to an end, I considered taking a job at a dental clinic like my friends, but wanting to learn more about implants and advanced dental techniques, I finally decided to go to the U.S. for the training I had long kept in my heart.

Earning
recognition in the U.S.

Living alone in an unfamiliar country where I knew no one, I took out a loan to rent a single room and a car. Rooms were so expensive that two of us shared one, divided by a curtain.

And my life in the U.S. has become an experience I treasure above all else.

I attended seminars at USC, UCLA and NYU dental schools and elsewhere, experiencing advanced American dentistry firsthand, and even passed the U.S. dental licensing exam, earning recognition for my skills.

Until your treatment is complete,
I will always give my whole heart to your care.

What I do best, what I am most confident in, and what I truly want to do

Implants are my calling
Focusing on implants

Even after returning to Korea and opening an in-house dental clinic for a major company, the question “How should I live?” followed me everywhere like unfinished homework.

One day, while still carrying that question, I found the answer over a meal with my parents.

Watching my parents eat without any discomfort, I remembered how I had personally placed implants for them back when their teeth were failing and they needed implants.

Seeing them like that filled me with a deep sense of fulfillment and happiness, and it struck me all over again: “Implants are what I do best and am most confident in.”

So I decided to focus on implants.

Striving for implants that satisfy everyone

Hyper-personalized implants
Taking on analysis and research

An implant is not simply about placing a tooth. Most people who come to us needing implants are struggling in their daily lives.

For them, an implant means planting back the everyday happiness they had lost.

That is why, guided by the philosophy of “treatment by principle, care centered on the patient,” I still study and research constantly, at my own expense, to find the implant best suited to each individual.

I will keep working to restore healthy teeth and bright smiles for every one of my patients.

We take on research
to go beyond conventional implants

As always, we will never settle for where we are,
and we will keep growing to deliver well-crafted, high-quality treatment.
